Ontario Power Generation is the First Official Toronto World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter

The Host City Supporter program, made possible through a new agreement with FIFA, allows Toronto to secure local sponsors, a first for the tournament.
The City of Toronto is thrilled to let soccer fans know that it has signed Ontario Power Generation (link opens in new window) (OPG) as its first Official Host City Supporter for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ (link opens in new window), which will take place in June and July of next year.

This was made possible through a new agreement with FIFA, which allows Toronto to secure local sponsors, a first for the tournament. And OPG will help bring the tournament to life in Toronto by supporting soccer-fan engagement.
Through the partnership, OPG will connect with fans, showcasing its operations and major energy infrastructure projects that grow Ontario’s economy while meeting the province’s rapidly increasing energy demands.
It will also supply the City with Clean Energy Credits (link opens in new window) from its low-carbon generation facilities. These credits will contribute to the use of clean energy at Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place, reinforcing Toronto’s commitment to climate action and a cleaner future.
