Heroes of the Game, Super Powered by Ontario Power Generation

Heroes of the Game | Powered by OPG | FIFA World Cup 2026™ Toronto

What powers a lifelong love of soccer? In Heroes of the Game, superpowered by Ontario Power Generation (OPG), a Canadian pro soccer player, a local grassroots coach, and a super supporter share the people, places and moments that shaped their love of the beautiful game.

Toronto-born Canadian Men's National Team defender Richie Laryea, Scarborough coach Hana, and longtime supporter Jamie MacLeod each tell a personal story—one rooted in community, belonging and the moments that inspired them to keep coming back to the pitch. Together, their journeys showcase the many ways soccer brings people together across Ontario.

Whether it's community leagues, local clubs, supporters' sections or neighbourhood parks, every soccer story starts somewhere. Heroes of the Game celebrates the people and places that help build confidence, create lifelong connections and inspire future generations to fall in love with the sport.

MORE ON OPG (link opens in new window)

As the first Official Toronto FIFA World Cup 2026™ Host City Supporter, Ontario Power Generation is helping power unforgettable fan experiences and our clean energy future — during iconic moments and every day after.

Fans can still experience OPG at the Ontario Campus at FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto until July 19, where interactive soccer challenges invite visitors to test their skills, compete with friends and learn more about the energy that helps power Ontario. It's one of many ways OPG has helped bring the excitement of FIFA World Cup 2026™ beyond the stadium and into communities across the province.
